Principal's Report

Our first tours for 2025 enrolments have already started and we are seeing very positive interest in the school. If you are aware of any local families or friends looking to enrol their children please encourage them to book a tour via the website ASAP.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with many of our families at the Twilight Picnic and Holi Festival on the 21st March which is from 5pm - 7:30pm.  This year we are combining the traditional Twilight Picnic with the Indian Festival of Colour, Holi.  There will be Indian Street Food, a BBQ and entertainment and lots of colour.  For more information please see the P&F section of the newsletter.

SOLAR INSTALLATION

We're thrilled to announce as part of the Greener Government School Buildings - the installation of solar panels! With sustainability at the forefront of our priorities, we're taking a big step towards reducing our carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy. Thanks to this innovative project, we're not only providing cleaner energy to power our facilities but also setting an example for our students on the importance of environmental stewardship. This solar installation not only demonstrates our commitment to sustainability but also serves as an educational tool, allowing our students to learn about renewable energy technologies firsthand. Together, let's shine a light on a brighter, greener future for our school and the planet!

BUILDING WORKS

As you would have already read on Compass the building works have already started and amazing progress has already been made. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and facilities for our students and community, we will be undergoing construction in certain areas of the school. The works should be completed by the end of the  term one holidays or shortly after.

Parent Helper Training Session

Please see more information in the newsletter about the upcoming Parent training session to be held tomorrow. We highly value the contribution of our volunteers in our school and look forward to welcoming many of you to the training session and back into the classrooms.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 3 and 5 students will be held this year in March, beginning on Wednesday 13th. This is a national test that gives a snapshot of each student’s ability in Literature and Numeracy compared to all other students in the same year level around Australia. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy.

The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals which can be used to improve student achievement.
