We will have a special Assembly at 9:10am on Thursday, 28th March (last day of Term 1) on the oval to celebrate Wheelers Hill Primary School Harmony Day. On this day, students can bring their own cultural food for lunch and discuss their food with their class if they wish. (There will be NO SHARING of food). Students are encouraged to wear cultural clothing (traditional or modern) or dress in orange.
We will also be presenting the Student of the Term awards at this Assembly. We would especially love to see you there in your cultural clothing to celebrate with your child/ children.
A big thank you to the Parent Association who ran a welcome BBQ last week on the oval after school. Thank you to the hundreds of parents and students that came along. The parent association was very happy with the turn out and events such as this go a long way towards fostering and developing a sense of community at the school.
The Parent Association also held their AGM this week. Congratulations to the following parents who have been elected office bears for 2024.
Election of 2024 PA Committee

Year Level Social Coordinator
The Parent Association will meet again soon and look forward to planning some more events for the school community. Thank you to the parents above for the involvement in the association. We appreciate your support and involvement in the school.
Our school is currently in the middle of the NAPLAN testing window. A reminder to Year 3 and 5 families that all students need to be at school on time, to ensure that testing can get underway without any issues. So far, the testing is going well with few issues. A big thank you to Ms Richards who has spent many hours organising the NAPLAN tests over the last few weeks. We have not been informed when we will receive the results, but it will likely be sometime in Term 3.
March 11th to April 9th Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Ramadan concludes with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which culminates in a celebratory feast as families gather to mark the end of fasting. Over the remainder of the school term, many of our families will be observing Ramadan and the school is mindful of the challenges that young children can face throughout this time. Please advise your child’s teacher if this is the case.
Just a reminder that next Friday 22nd March is a curriculum day. On this day the teachers will be planning ahead for Term 2. Students ARE NOT required at school. Our OSHC program will be running a program so please contact them if you require care.
Term 1 has flown by this year, the last day of term is on Thursday 28th March. Please note the earlier finish time of 2:30pm. The first day back of Term 2 is Monday 15th April.
