Principal's Message
In our last College newsletter, we referenced the storm that blew through our town and caused considerable disruption and destruction. Since then, we have shown resilience and bounced back.
We rescheduled the Swimming Carnival and had a great day at the Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool with students and staff enjoying the day in and out of the pool. A special word of congratulations to the students who went on and represented the College at the next level of swimming competition in Orbost last week.
We hosted the Bairnsdale Police team last week, where all year levels attended an information session aimed at informing students of their rights and responsibilities in regard to keeping themselves and others safe in our school and in our community. A key message of these sessions related to physical violence and the negative impact it has on everyone’s lives. All members of our school community have the right to feel safe, so please continue to reinforce respectful behaviours to your child(ren).
On Monday we held our Term 1 Whole School assembly in Boucher hall. Our school Captains presented the 2024 College leaders to the community and acknowledged academic and sporting achievement. We were entertained by the College Senior and Swing bands who had the hall rocking throughout the assembly. Other highlights included presentations from the 2023 Kokoda Trail trip, this year's exchange to Germany, Year 7 camp and our recent Swimming Carnival. Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to attend and share the assembly with us.
And just another request to families to encourage students continue to wear their school uniform with pride. Please do not send students to school out of uniform and please no hoodies. If for some reason uniform is a challenge, then students are welcome to access spare uniform items from their year level hub.
Kindest,
Tony Roberts
