Stay Safe and Thrive in 2025

Road Safety

GPS is making road safety a focus for 2025 under the motto Stay Safe and Thrive in 2025. At a school council meeting this year, we were fortunate to hear an informative road safety presentation from Rebecca Yacobovich, a GPS parent who works in Road Safety at the TAC. Bec joined council members and school staff to share advice for keeping our children safe, based on the evidence underpinning the government’s approach to reducing road trauma on Victorian roads.

Here are 3 simple things you can do today to play your part in making the roads around GPS as safe as possible.

  1. Slow down when driving around the school
  2. Check whether your child passes the 5-step test before moving them out of a booster seat

  1. Try walking or cycling with your child/ren to school, or drive only part of the way and walk the rest

By working together, we can create a safer environment for all students and help them thrive this year.
