Student Leadership

We wrapped up Semester 2 of Gear Change with two strong groups running across Wednesday and Friday. Throughout the term, students took part in targeted maths and English intervention sessions, showing a significant lift in their skills and confidence. Both classes recorded improved attendance, alongside a clear reduction in behavioural incidents as routines strengthened and relationships grew.
Students also engaged in regular team-building sessions and focused wellbeing lessons centred on the Zones of Regulation, helping them better understand and manage their emotions. They contributed to school-based community projects and participated in mentor programs, building positive connections and real-world skills.
A highlight of the semester was our Gear Change Celebration, where both classes planned and ran a full catering event. Students created menus, researched recipes, prepared shopping lists, formed cooking teams, and worked together to cook and serve their dishes to staff, friends, and family. It was a proud moment that showcased their teamwork, independence, and growth.
Overall, Semester 2 was a powerful step forward strong growth, strong engagement, and a stronger school community.
