We also extend our congratulations to:
Eleanor Graafsma (Year 11), who has secured a place in the 2025 Defying the Drift Program. This residential program, held at Longerenong College near Horsham during the September school break, is designed to encourage young Australians to explore options, set goals and build strategies to support a future career in regional and rural Australia.A key component of the program involves gaining sponsorship from a local Rotary club – in Eleanor’s case, Warragul Rotary – and delivering a feedback presentation. Despite not having access to specific VCE subjects such as Agriculture, Geography and Environmental Science, Eleanor continues to pursue alternative opportunities to enrich her career journey, broadening her skills and networks along the way. Congratulations, Eleanor!
Bonnie Collings (Class of 2020), Winner of the Victorian Country Press Association – Cadet of the Year, and finalist for the Rural Press Club of Victoria – Young Journalist of the Year.
