Energy Breakthrough

After months of training and preparation, our students showed outstanding determination on the track, riding over 300km across the event. They pushed themselves to the limit, achieving fast lap times, smooth transitions, and showing amazing teamwork as they encouraged each other through every stage. We are extremely proud of how they represented our school with perseverance, positivity and school spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parents and community members for supporting the team every step of the way whether it was helping at training sessions, building up the trike, taking some amazing photos, transporting bikes, assisting in the pits, or cheering trackside. Your dedication made all the difference and helped our students shine.

We would also like to acknowledge our incredible sponsors, whose support helped make this year’s Energy Breakthrough possible. Your contributions ensured our students had the resources and equipment needed to perform at their best.

Foundation - Grade 2 Inquiry

This week in Inquiry Foundation - Grade 2, students were learning about algorithms and what happens when we follow specific steps. Students used the Bee Bots to understand the sequence of steps to avoid falling off the classroom tables. They were able to use their understanding of positional language to support their ability to code the algorithm. There was lots of laughter and fun had trying to avoid the Bee Bots from falling.

Year 3-6 Persuasive Writing

As part of our Literacy unit on "The Last Bear" students have been learning the structure and features of a persuasive letter. To put our new skills into practice, students wrote a persuasive letter to Santa to convince him of what they really need for Christmas!

The Resilience Project

Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!

This weeks TRP was all about gratitude for our carers. We shared a discussion using the following questions:

  • What does being cared for look like to you?
  • What do our carers do for us? Think about the big and the little things they help us with.
  • How do we feel when we’re cared for?
  • How does caring for others make us feel?

We wrote a letter to our special person telling them of all the things they do that we were grateful for so they could read it and keep it to remind them that we do appreciate them.

Year 5 Leadership Day

On Thursday our Grade 5 students attended a Leadership Day at St Francis of the Fields PS in Strathfieldsaye which was run by the Caritas organisation. Students brainstormed leaders in schools, communities and the wider world whom they were familiar with and considered the qualities those people displayed which made them great leaders. They then considered how they can develop their own positive leadership skills through application of these traits in our school and discussed ideas and plans for Project Compassion in 2026. Students also discussed the impacts of issues such as homelessness, poverty, natural disasters, climate change and war and listened to stories of people living in Tanzania, Fiji, Bangladesh and Gaza. They spent time interacting with students from St Liborius', St Peter’s and St Francis of the Fields Primary Schools to complete role plays and share insights into ways in which we can make change. Thank you to Kerry and Jillian from Caritas for coordinating such an engaging and fun learning opportunity for our upcoming leaders and to St Francis of the Fields PS for hosting the day.
