Dear Red Cliffs Secondary College Community,
This week we were excited to welcome our 2026 Year 7 students into our learning community to begin their transition journey. Our ‘Get Reddy’ Transition Program provides students with an opportunity to explore the school facilities, participate in engaging introductory activities, and establish connections with both staff and their peers. Throughout November, students will attend weekly come and try sessions and participate in a variety of activities across all subject areas. These sessions play a valuable role in helping our new students feel connected, confident and excited about their transition into secondary school life. The program will culminate with the formal Orientation Day on Tuesday 9th December. Families will receive further information regarding the organisation of our Orientation Day next week.
Our Year 12 students have been working their way through their exams, and all VCE exams will conclude by Tuesday. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Year 12s on this significant milestone. Whist they await their results, they will come together next Thursday, 20th November, for a graduation dinner to celebrate with their families and teachers. Thank you to Amy Wilson and Tyson Richardson for co-ordinating this special celebration and for their care and co-ordination of our Year 12s this year.
Year 11 students will begin their exams from Wednesday, 19th November. Timetables have already been shared with students and revision is underway in classes. This exam period provides a great opportunity for students to build good study habits and get comfortable with formal exam routines as they prepare for and look ahead for Year 12 in 2026. Further information regarding expectations during this period will be emailed to all families.
We are pleased to advise that Lilydale Books is now our official booklist supplier. Families will shortly receive information on how to access and order the 2026 booklist through Lilydale books. Starting the year organised gives students the momentum they need to stay focused, feel confident, and achieve their personal best. Lilydale books has been selected for its simple and user-friendly online platform, offering families a streamlined ordering process, competitive pricing, and reliable home delivery. We are confident this change will prove convenient for our families.
As we have now hit the halfway mark of Term 4, the school is busy and buzzing as we look to wrap up the year and start planning and looking forward to all the exciting opportunities that await us in 2026. We have lots of student activities and events happening over the next month, including our College Awards Night on Wednesday, 17th December. Families of award winners will receive an email through Compass, approximately a week before the event, advising their child will need to be in attendance on the evening. We are also looking forward to showcasing a number of student performances on the night, so please save the date! Please continue to regularly check our social media pages and Compass to remain up to date with our latest news and events.
