Halloween Free Dress

Friday 31 October

The Middle School Student Service Committee is hosting a Halloween Dress-Up Day on the Middle Campus on Friday 31 October to raise funds for the Hobart Women’s Shelter Build a Brick Campaign.

Students can pay via a gold coin donation or EFTPOS and come dressed in their best Halloween costume! Funds raised will support the construction of new homes for women and children in desperate need of safe accommodation.

Student House Leaders - Semester 1 2026

We are calling for current Year 7 students who are passionate about leadership to apply for Student House Leaders for Semester 1, 2026 in the Middle School.  This is a very exciting leadership opportunity in the Middle School, and the role will be important in welcoming the new 2026 Year 7s on Campus, the Shine Your Light Evening, and kicking off the script writing for House Panto! Student House Leaders will also lead the Middle School in exciting new initiatives, carnivals and all things House Spirit! Students need to read this application information and email Essie their application by next Wednesday 5 November at 9am.

Students will be notified if they make it through to the interview round, which will take place in Week 5, and successful interviewees will give a speech to the students in their House in Week 6, where students will then vote for their preferred candidate.

Any questions? Please contact Essie Hoggart, House Leader - Middle School Campus.

Hobart City Mission Middle School Donation Drive

From Weeks 3 - 6, the Student Voice Council is running a Donation Drive for the Hobart City Mission. Inspired by our visit to their Safe Sleep Space, we wanted to make a difference to support those who help our community’s most vulnerable people. We usually see which House can bring along the most items; this time, we are going to see which KEY CLASS can donate the most goods!

The most needed items that are required include:

  • Coffee
  • Sugar
  • Powdered/long life Milk
  • Breakfast spreads
  • Cereals
  • New Thermals
  • New Underwear
  • New towels
  • Pet food
  • Travel size toiletries
  • Feminine Hygiene products
  • Non perishable food items

We will collect items until the end of Week 6. Items can be given to your Key Teacher. Which Key Class will donate the most items?!

Absentees

If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Middle School Office (phone: 6210 2235, or email: middleschooloffice@friends.tas.edu.au). We appreciate your support in this process.
