Block examinations start this week. Examinations for Years 7 to 10 will commence this week, while Year 11 students will begin their block examinations next week.
As part of the schedule, Year 11 students are reminded that Monday has been designated as a study day. This provides valuable time to consolidate learning and prepare thoroughly before assessments begin.
Students across all year levels are encouraged to read their timetables carefully and ensure they are familiar with the days, times, and venues for their examinations. Arriving in good time allows for a calm start.
It is also important that students review the Exam Procedures for Students document, which was emailed alongside their timetables. This document outlines expectations and requirements during the examination period, to ensure an equitable experience for all.
Best wishes to all students as they make their final preparations for this examination block.
Congratulations to all students involved in this week's Ethics Olympiad competition. This extension activity is a competition that encourages students to engage in discussions about ethical issues, develop critical thinking skills and promote respectful discourse.
Special congratulations go to the Clayfield College Black Team, who have qualified to be part of the International Final next year.
We are very proud of all students involved!

Clayfield College is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in this year’s University of Queensland Chinese Writing Competition, with Greer Gallagher (Year 11) receiving the competition’s highest honour, the Supreme Award.
The 2025 competition attracted 115 entries from more than 25 schools across Queensland, spanning both Primary and Secondary divisions. Each year, only one Supreme Award is presented in the Non-native Speaker Division and one in the Native Speaker Division. Greer’s accomplishment places her among the top Chinese language students in the state and represents a remarkable milestone for our College.
Our success extended across multiple divisions, with impressive results from:
Tiana Miller (Year 10): 3rd Place, Year 9 to 10 Division
These exceptional outcomes highlight our students’ commitment to language learning. Their achievements continue to let their light shine and inspire others to pursue excellence.
It has been a wonderful time for our Clayfield community, marked by moments that highlighted the excellence and spirit of our community.
Last Friday evening, LUX 25 illuminated our campus with a vibrant celebration of The Arts. Imagination filled every space through the Whole School Art Exhibition and dynamic dance, music, drama and language performances. Guests explored student artworks, cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award, and enjoyed delicious Spanish and Chinese street food alongside the P&F Drinks Station. A highlight of the night was the awards presentation, where winners were announced and recognised for their outstanding artistic achievements.
This week, we also gathered for Clayfield College’s 95th Speech Night at QPAC, a distinguished celebration of academic excellence. Prize recipients from Years 7 to 12 were acknowledged for their scholarship, leadership, service and resilience. While the night opened with beautiful performances, the focus remained on honouring the students who have truly illuminated the sky throughout 2025. The unveiling of the refreshed House Shirt, along with the graduating class’s legacy House Spirit Flags, further added to the significance of the evening.
We also shared a heartfelt House Farewell, thanking our Year 12 students for their leadership and the spirit they have brought to their Houses. This cherished tradition highlighted the deep sense of belonging.
Together, these celebrations reflected the unity and excellence of our College community as our students continue to shine.

As part of our IGNITE Program, we will be repurposing the previous green and white striped uniform and green tunic. If you would like to donate these items for this purpose, please drop them off to Mrs David at Main Reception by Wednesday 26 November 2025.

As we enter the final weeks of Term 4, our school community is filled with a sense of gratitude, excitement and shared purpose. This week marks a significant milestone for our Year 12 students who will complete their final days of schooling tomorrow and officially close the chapter on their schooling journey.
We congratulate them on their perseverance, growth and resilience. Their achievements, contributions to College life and leadership have enriched our community in countless ways. As they prepare for new pathways, whether it be university, work or other adventures, we wish them every success and express our thanks for the energy and spirit they leave behind.
This period is also a timely reminder of the importance of community support. Families, teachers, and peers all play vital roles in enhancing the sense of belonging that enables our young people to thrive. Thank you to everyone who has walked beside our Year 12 students over the years; your encouragement has helped shape who they are today.
Meanwhile, students in Years 7 to 11 are in the midst of exam block. During this busy time, it is important to acknowledge the value of balance. While academic focus is essential, maintaining healthy routines such as consistent sleep, nutritious meals, regular exercise and rest breaks helps students manage stress and perform at their best. Encouraging realistic study plans, avoiding last-minute cramming and keeping open communication at home can make a significant difference to wellbeing and confidence.
This season offers moments of reflection for all year levels: gratitude for the learning that has taken place, appreciation for the friendships and connections that support us and recognition of the effort each student has invested throughout the year. As we celebrate our Year 12 cohort and support our younger students through exams, we are reminded that our strength lies in the unity of our Clayfield College community.
