Hands On Learning

What an action packed start to the term!
The HoL team hosted their final two Muffin Days of the year for the Foundation and Grade six students. Thank you to everyone who has supported our HoL fundraiser by purchasing a muffin (or several!) throughout the year.
Staff have enjoyed a selection of slices and muesli cups for morning tea across this year. Thank you for supporting our program staff.
The HoL Regional Manager, Malcolm, and Parnerships Manager, Lisa, visited our school to join in and experience our WEPS HoL program. We will be a feature school in the upcoming HoL newsletter. We’re well underway with our planning and preparation for the Foundation Cafe Day; painting signs, planning menus, making grocery lists and creating placemats.
This week, we put our shovelling skills to the test shifting a huge pile of mulch (50+ wheelbarrow loads) onto the paths surrounding all of the raised garden beds. Thanks for organising the load of mulch Mr Boxer. This provides a safe walking area in our garden, as well as an excellent compost/soil topper to add to the garden beds next year as it decomposes.
We’ve enjoyed some fresh ham and salad rolls, chicken and salad rolls, toasties, and burritos for our lunches. Coming up is sushi and sausage rolls.
Each week, we aim to include something fresh from the garden.
Painting the Buddy Bench is coming along slowly but surely, working on it when the sun is shining. Well done to all of the HoL students who give their best every week no matter what the activity is, regularly stepping out of their comfort zones. Respect, kindness and a positive attitude shines though every week.
