Highlight 

Selamat Siang, 

This week in the Inquiry Centre we have participated in lots of fun learning!

We were excited to present our speeches in class last Friday after working very hard on writing and practising them. We made sure to focus on our tone, pace, volume, expression, gestures and eye contact!

We began exploring different types of communication in our Guided Inquiry sessions this week. One exciting form of communication we focussed on was our cup-and-string phones, we used twine and paper cups! Students were able to experiment with and evaluate the effectiveness of communicating through the cup-and-string phones.

In Maths, students completed a rich assessment task demonstrating their understanding of time by representing it in different ways and extending themselves to calculate elapsed time. They put their thinking skills to work by labelling, ordering and writing the time for 6-8 clocks, exploring both analogue and digital time!

In Writing, we continued to explore persuasive texts and wrote our own pieces using our single-paragraph outlines, including our topic sentence and three supporting details!

A highlight of this week will be the Year 1 Late Stay and the Year 2 Sleepover - we've all been looking forward to the fun activities we'll participate in this Friday!
