Leadership Centre

Selamat siang,

Despite a short week, we have still been super busy in the Leadership Centre!

Students have presented their speeches to classes this week in preparation for the whole school public speaking competition on Monday. These speeches were created over a number of weeks where students showed perseverance to edit and improve their work, to make it engaging and meaningful to their audience. The theme of ‘happiness’ was quite broad, allowing everyone to make their message unique to them. Congratulations to everyone for presenting, and to the winners who will present their speech to the whole school next week.

In Mathematics, we have continued to develop our understanding of number through use of the Order of Operations. Students have solved problems involving square-roots, a range of indices, and even found unknown values by rearranging equations. Through solving these problems, students have also been focusing on how to record and justify their thinking, ensuring that their work is organised and can be clearly understood by someone else.

In Guided Inquiry, we have finished our masterclass sessions in preparation for our Earn and Learn projects. For the past five weeks, students have rotated through five masterclasses on Consumer Choice, Economic Scarcity (Supply and Demand), Entrepreneurship, Taxation and Spending Wisely. With all the information gathered in these sessions, students will now work to create their own businesses. Stay tuned to see what creative ideas everyone comes up with!

Have a wonderful week!

Attention Year 6 Families - Baby Photos for Graduation

We are looking forward to celebrating Year 6 Graduation at the end of the year, with preparations already underway!

One of our beloved traditions is sharing three baby photos from between the ages of 0-5 as part of the presentation. We are asking if you could please email gradesixgraduation@gmail.com with these three photos by November 30th. We usually recommend one baby photo, one as a toddler and one around kinder age but any family favourites will be great! Also, if your child attended another school prior to MPRPS and you have their school photo, it would also be much appreciated if you could send those though.

We will send reminder emails over the coming weeks but we like to get an early start as it takes a while to collate everything! Thank you so much for your support.
