Principal's Message

Term 4-week 5

Tuesday 11 November 2025 is Remembrance Day

A day for us to remember those who have served, suffered or died in all wars and peacekeeping operations. The annual observance also acknowledges the service of Australian Defence Force members on active deployment.

Remembrance Day marks the date in 1918 when World War I came to an end. It is officially observed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

To mark Remembrance Day, we will pause at 11 am on Tuesday 11 November 2025 for a minute’s silence, to remember people's service and sacrifice.

We will fly the Australian national flag:

  • at the masthead from 8:00 am to 10:30 am
  • at half-mast from 10:30 am to 11:02 am
  • at the masthead from 11:02 am to the end of the school day

One Year On – Remembering the Auburn South Primary School Tragedy

Last week marked one year since the tragic events at Auburn South Primary School. Our thoughts remain with the students, staff, families, and the entire school community as they continue to heal from such a heartbreaking loss.

This solemn anniversary is also a powerful reminder of the importance of ensuring safety in and around our schools. Every child deserves to feel safe as they learn and grow, and every community plays a part in protecting that.

We kindly ask all parents and caregivers to exercise extra caution and prioritise safety when driving around the school. Please remember to:

  • Reduce speed in school zones.
  • Stop for pedestrians at crossings.
  • Avoid using your phone while driving.

TWO WEEKS TO GO

Volunteer Sign Up- We need your help!!!

We can’t run this event without our school community’s support on the day.

It would be fabulous if as many families as possible can put their name down to help for an hour at one of the many volunteer spots. Any parent, grandparent, aunty/uncle, friends are all welcome to be volunteers (18+ please).

Please click on the volunteer sign up page to see the full range of activities that need helpers:

Silly Hair Day is coming up! We want to see your wackiest, most colorful, and most creative hairstyles.

All chocolate donations will be used as part of the Pleasant Day Out Carnival Games.

Your plans for 2026

Our planning for 2026 is well under way and a major part of this planning relies on student numbers and knowing who will be returning to MPRPS for the 2025 school year.  Please notify our Administration team if your intentions are not to return in 2026. Now that the parent request period is closed we will soon be creating classes.

NO ASSEMBLY on Monday 11th as we have our Public Speaking competition in the middle of the day.

Have a wondeful weekend.
