From the Principal

We hope families enjoyed the long weekend and had the chance to recharge. It’s hard to believe we’re already at the end of Week 5.

Voluntary Contributions 2026

Voluntary contributions for 2026 were sent home on Wednesday. We work closely with School Council to ensure these fees are kept to an absolute minimum. Schools provide free instruction to deliver the standard Victorian Curriculum, and we would like to assure families that all contributions are entirely voluntary. However, the ongoing generosity of our community plays a vital role in helping us provide the best possible learning experiences and resources for our students.

We sincerely thank our families for their continued support; it truly makes a difference to what we can offer at our school.

Japanese Day

A big thank you to Mami Sensei and Mackenzie Sensei for organising our Japanese sports day and to the staff for supporting them on the day.  The day was a huge success, with the children and staff having a great day participating in a range of sporting activities.  Once again, the costumes were a highlight of the day, and the Bento boxes were a hit for lunch.

Grade 4 Bike Ed Program

Bike Ed begins for Grade 4 students next week.  Our Grade 4 students will participate in the Bike Education program over the next 4 weeks. They will learn important skills to ride safely and confidently. The program will focus on bike handling, road safety, signalling, and awareness of surroundings. We could not run this program without parent volunteers, so thank you to our parent helpers who have volunteered to support the program.

Workforce planning is underway for 2026. If you have a child currently in Grades 1–5 who will not be returning to Parkdale Primary School next year, please let the school know as soon as possible. This information will assist us in determining grade structures and staffing requirements for 2026.

Kind regards

Leanne Bradney
