Grade 5 News

In English, we are nearing the end of our final novel study, The Last Bear, and have been busy writing persuasive letters to the Arctic Council, to persuade them to take more action to help protect polar bears and their habitats. We are moving on to creating information reports about our Solar System. 

In Maths, we’re wrapping up our unit on converting between fractions, decimals and percentages, and getting ready to begin a new unit focused on using all four mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. 

This Thursday we are heading off to Galen to watch their Junior School performance of Wizard of Oz.

Next week we are heading to Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre to have swim lessons. Please remember to bring a towel, bathers, goggles, slides/thongs and a bag for wet clothes. 

Please make sure permission forms for both excursions are back to your classroom teacher no later than the 12th of November. 

Friday is a pupil free day to allow staff to complete reports.
