Principal's message

God of peace,

Through your Son Jesus, you show us how to be people of kindness and people of forgiveness.

Help us to be more understanding towards each other so that we may build right relationships and live with compassion and understanding.

May we be true peacemakers who want to make a difference in our world.

We give thanks and pray for all who have served in the Australian Defence Force. May they find peace and healing.

We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name.

All: Amen.

Dear Parents,

Today we acknowledged Remembrance Day with our student leaders representing our school at the cenotaph and our school community participating in a prayer service here at school.

This is an important day for all Australians, and we remember all those who served and those impacted by war.

Wednesday

Tomorrow, we welcome the new Foundation students and their families for 2026 for their first orientation day.  This is an exciting time for these children; we are delighted to have them join our beautiful school and caring community.

Wizard of Oz

During this week all of our students will be attending the Galen production of The Wizard of Oz. We thank Galen for their invitation to attend.

Class Groupings for 2026

As with every year, a great deal of thought and discernment is required to create the most effective class groupings.

I trust our staff implicitly to know the children they teach and to place them in the most appropriate class grouping for their needs and development.  This process involves gathering information from previous teachers to ensure the best fit in class for all children, work habits, additional support, friendships and personality are all considered when making group placements.

Our teachers are professionals who know that a balanced class structure is the most appropriate fit for all students.

Parent requests are not necessary, as teachers are creating balanced groups that consider all children and not just one.  Our teachers have already worked with the children and are aware of potential clashes amongst children and aim to avoid these situations for the betterment of all in the class.

We appreciate our parents leaving class placements up to our teachers and trust their professional judgement.

Class structures

Our class structures will remain the same in 2026 with straight grades.

You will be aware from previous communication that Mr. Murphy will leave St. Bernard's at the end of the year.

We are in the procurement process therefore our class teachers have not been finalised until this process is completed.

Art and Photography Show

We had a very successful Art and Photography show over the weekend and a successful Makers Market on Saturday.

The two events complemented each other perfectly.

We thank Kristyn McAsey for organising the Art show and the P&F under the guidance of Sarah Snowdon for organising the Makers Market.

Many visitors entered our school for both events and complimented us on having such successful events and such beautiful school environments.

Reconciliation Parent meeting

The Parent meeting for the children who are preparing to make their First Confession is on tonight in the Chapel at 6.00pm.

I look forward to seeing you all tonight.
