Wheelchair basketball
Last week, students from Years 1 to 6 actively participated in a wheelchair basketball clinic orchestrated by Basketball Victoria. This wonderful event provided all students with the chance to engage in basketball activities and enhance their skills while experiencing a unique perspective of playing in a wheelchair. These sessions offered valuable insight and fostered a greater appreciation for sports that involve the use of wheelchairs.
Bakers Delight Christmas Treat
Students had the opportunity to order a sweet Christmas treat from Bakers Delight for morning tea last week.
Camelot Soiree
On the evenings of Tuesday 5th (F-3) and Wednesday 6th December (4-6) students had the opportunity to perform at the Camelot Soiree. The concert was open to any students currently receiving musical instrument or voice tuition from a professional teacher. It provided a very supportive environment for the children to perform in front of an audience.
Congratulations to all who performed. We have some very talented students at CRPS.
Mini Fete
Year 5 and Year 6 students have been very excited and motivated to come up with some creative ideas for their End of Year Mini-fete held on Thursday 7th December. It was an integral part of our Inquiry Unit, which aims to assist students to gain a basic understanding of economics. It ran alongside their maths unit in Money and Financial Maths. All monies raised were donated to Make A Wish and Reaching Out Because We Can, charities chosen by the students.
Elisia Mineo from Reaching Out Because We Can was very appreciative. Elisia added the following to the Reaching Out Because We Can Facebook page.

On Thursday the fete they had spent so much time on....was amazing.
The children chose ROBWC.INC and MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION to divide between both charities whatever was made on the day.
I went and saw what the children had prepared.
Ohhhh I am so glad I did.
The buzzing, the excitement and smiles all round.
Well done to all the children but also the teachers.
Both charities were given an opportunity at the school to make a speech of gratitude at their assembly on Friday... receiving a check each of $872.15

Happy Monday to you, and all the wonderful teachers and students at Camelot Rise Primary School.
I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary effort and enthusiasm demonstrated by your school in raising funds for Make-A-Wish 💙✨💙
As you know, Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our mission is to grant the wish of every eligible child – a quest sparked by the belief that a wish is integral to a child’s treatment.
It was truly a privilege for me to join your school assembly on Friday and watch your wonderful students be celebrated for their hard work and efforts for this fundraising activity. Their dedication and kindness supports our mission and it was inspirational for me to see the children’s genuine enthusiasm displayed – it’s always wonderful to see children doing great things for others. It reflects not only the caring environment fostered at Camelot Rise Primary School, but also the commitment to instilling essential values of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility in the young minds entrusted to your care.
We understand that events like these requires considerable time, effort, and coordination, and we want to acknowledge and thank all the teachers and parents who supported this activity.
On behalf of Make-A-Wish, please accept our thanks to everyone involved in making this fundraising campaign such a tremendous success. Your generosity will help us grant more wishes just like Emily’s.
We look forward to future collaborations with Camelot Rise Primary School, and we are excited about the positive impact we can create together.
Thanks again for letting me be a part of your assembly, it was truly enjoyable and provided me with a wonderful experience.
All the fun things,
