Year 11 & 12

Cherished Memories

It has been a whirlwind of excitement and significant events for our senior students, commencing with Senior Students Day - an opportunity to acquaint themselves with their courses and teachers to ensure a seamless transition into the academic routines of Year 11 and 12.

The climax of the first week was the much-anticipated Year 12 Ball - held at Ambrose Estate, Wembley Golf Course, where students and staff enjoyed dinner and the music stylings of DJ Steve as the sun set. The dancing continued between dinner and dessert, wrapping up a magical evening at 11pm thanks to the meticulous planning of the Ball Committee and the dedicated efforts of Mrs Shannon Allen who orchestrated this event. It was an amazing evening that will be talked about all year and beyond. [Information on how to order Ball photos is on the next page].

In Week 2, we celebrated the Year 12 Student and Leaders Commissioning, a moment to honour our newly elected 2024 Student Leaders and equally to recognise the pivotal role all our Year 12 students play in shaping the leadership and ethos of our school. Students pinned their Year 12 badges on their blazer while at the Cathedral – a symbolic occasion signifying the importance of this, their final year at St George’s Anglican Grammar School.

This week we welcomed back the academic leaders of 2023 during our High Flyers Assembly and we extend our gratitude to the parents who participated in the Year 11 & 12 Parent Information Night on Tuesday night. We trust that the insights shared during the evening provided clarity on the journey ahead for your child. At St George’s, we firmly believe in cultivating respect for oneself as the foundation for personal development and triumph. By nurturing self-awareness, embracing individuality and fostering positive self-esteem, we empower our students to navigate life's challenges with confidence and integrity.

As we reflect on these exhilarating moments, we are reminded of the vibrant tapestry of experiences that define our school community.

Each event, from the camaraderie of Senior Students Day to the elegance of the ball, serves as a testament to the spirit of unity and excellence that permeates St George’s.

As we forge ahead into the rest of the academic year, let us carry lessons learned, memories cherished and bonds strengthened, all under the guiding principle of respect.
