Nicole Bull, Academic Dean of Performing Arts
A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff, parents and students who have continued to support the Performing Arts this year. The dedication and contribution shown by all has been exemplary. I wish you all a safe and joyous Christmas and a well-deserved rest over the holidays.
Celebration Night
Zach McDonald, Year 11
Celebration Night was a spectacular event, showcasing a diverse array of incredible bands, choirs and both large and small music ensembles.
Some of the highlights included the grand orchestra’s powerful rendition of Georges Bizet’s Les Toreadors from Carmen Suite No. 1 and Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No. 5 in F Major, Op. 103, masterfully performed by 2024 Music Captain, Melody Xu.
Many audience members shared that this year’s music performances, from choirs to instrumental bands and trios, were among the strongest ever seen at a Celebration Night, even surpassing those of previous years. This sentiment is a testament to the performers’ dedication, talent and passion for delivering an unforgettable evening.
A huge thank you to all the students, staff and organisers who worked tirelessly to bring this remarkable event to life!
Avah Quinn, Year 11
I found the performances at Celebration Night both exciting and inspiring, which is a true testament to the incredible talent within our School’s Music program.
As Choral Captain, I was especially impressed by the dedication of all the choirs—their ability to master intricate pieces and deliver emotive, powerful performances was truly remarkable.
Overall, the night was a celebration of music’s profound impact on young minds and a memorable showcase of Kilvington’s musical excellence.
Petite Pianists’ Soiree
On 15 November, over thirty budding young pianists from ELC through to Year 2 participated in the Kilvington Petite Pianists’ Soiree.
This was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest pianists to share their hard work with friends and family while gaining performance skills and confidence. We look forward to seeing the development of these young musicians next year!

A big congratulations also goes to Jasper Watters, Year 9, for earning an A in his Certificate of Performance exam and to Henry Hu, Year 10, for successfully completing his AMusA. Well done to all!
