Principal's Message

Summer certainly hit with a vengeance this week, including the Summer thunder storms!. The kids were amazing and were very good at remembering their water bottles and hats. When the weather is awful we call an inclement weather day. Sometimes the kids call it a yucky day timetable. If it is raining or extreme weather (over 36 degrees and windy) the students have supervised play in their classrooms. Everyone made it home safely on Tuesday after the wild winds swept through. All trees have been re inspected and made safe.
This Friday we will be sending out our notice to call for school council elections. School council is made up of parents and staff that meet to ensure there is oversite of the policies and finances for our school. They support special events and develop fundraising plans. If you are interested in supporting the school please ring the office to get a nomination form.
We are looking forward to meeting with you on Wednesday the 28th of February at “Meet the Teacher” conferences. Students will not be required at school so that teachers can schedule appointments to meet with you uninterrupted. Details will come out on compass on how to book an appointment closer to the date.
We are very excited to welcome our new OHSC (After school care) company “Their Care” who will be starting In term 2. Thankyou to all our families for understanding the delay in re-establishing this service. Thankyou to Manny who worked tirelessly over the holidays to make sure the tender went out for the service and all legal and government processes were followed.
We have a number of community events coming up Make sure you check out our community calendar
Kind regards Teresa
School Council Election Process for 2024
This document outlines the School Council Election process for Roxburgh Homestead Primary school.
The principal will issue a notice and call for nominations on the 16th of February 2024. For parents, this notice will probably be given to your child so you may need to check with them whether it has been sent home.
If you decide to stand for election, you will need to arrange to be nominated and seconded by persons who are eligible for the same category as you will stand for. The principal can provide information about these categories.
Once the nomination form is completed, return it to the principal within the time stated on the notice of election.
