Mathematics

In Numeracy this term children will concentrate on matching collections to numbers and comparing, sequencing and ordering numbers 0 to 9. They will practice counting backwards and forwards and count using 1:1 correspondence. Children will then establish an understanding of ten as a new unit composed of ten and the ones. This forms the basis of our base 10 number system and sets the children up for success in all other areas of Mathematics. Children will play many counting and number games and solve problems using materials. We will also be collecting and sorting data, creating graphs

and answering simple questions about the data.
