A huge thank you to all that supported our students as they participated in their First Eucharist at St Christopher's church yesterday. A special word of thanks to Maria Mangone for her dedicated work to make yesterday so special for our students and their families.
The celebration had all the hallmarks of a memorable occasion for the children; it was well supported by family members, it was well organised, all children participated positively and all were made to feel special. Fr Jacob did a wonderful job of sharing the significance of the sacrament and engaging the children in the service. Our church provides a beautiful setting for such occasions and there was meaningful symbolism demonstrated throughout the integral parts of the celebration.
It also had the added touch of the children’s choir, musicians and a photographer!
Families were also well supported by Majella Parks and Danika Rait who I want to also highlight for assisting in whatever way they could on the day.
Thanks to all for making this a special day for our students and their families.
Semester One Reports
We are currently finalising Semester One reports. Reports will be distributed electronically on Friday. The following week we will have Parent - Teacher Meetings for most classes on Thursday June 25 beginning at 2pm. Please note this means students will need to be picked up at 1.30pm. Please take some time to review the report before the parent - teacher meetings.
End of Term Finishing Time
Please be aware that on Friday June 26th, we will not have an assembly and our day will finish at 1pm. This early finish to the day, assists the school to attend to the 'time in lieu' arrangements that are provided for staff in the industrial award that we work under.
Child Safe Standard Number 8
‘Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children andyoung people safe through ongoing education and training.’
As Catholic educators, we have a moral, mission-driven and legal responsibility to uphold and actively promote the wellbeing and safety of every student entrusted in our care. This responsibility is lived out not only through policies and procedures, but through the knowledge, skills, and awareness of the adults who work with children every day. Our commitment to child safety includes ensuring that staff and volunteers receive ongoing education and training that equips them to recognise indicators of harm, respond appropriately to child safety and wellbeing concerns, support colleagues, and build culturally safe environments for all children and young people.
Grounded in our Catholic mission, this standard reflects our call to act with wisdom, care, and responsibility. When staff and volunteers are well informed, confident, and supported through continuous learning, childsafety and wellbeing are strengthened across all aspects of school life.
Child Safe Standard Number 9
‘Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunityfor children and young people to be harmed.’
As Catholic educators, we have a moral, mission-driven, and legal responsibility to ensure that everyenvironment where children learn, play, and connect, both physical and online, promotes safety and wellbeing. This responsibility is lived out not only through policies and procedures, but through the way schoolspaces, activities, and digital platforms are designed, supervised, and used each day.
Our commitment to child safety includes creating and maintaining safe physical spaces and responsible online environments that minimise risks and reduce opportunities for harm. This includes thoughtful supervision, clear expectations for behaviour and technology use, and proactive approaches that support children’s wellbeing, dignity, and inclusion in all settings.
Grounded in our Catholic mission to uphold the dignity of every child as made in the image and likeness of God, Child Safe Standard 9 calls us to act with compassion, vigilance, and responsibility. When our school environments are intentionally shaped by Gospel values to be safe, supportive, and respectful, both in personand online, children are protected, feel secure, and are enabled to flourish spiritually, emotionally, and academically across every aspect of school life.
CSS 9 is the environmental risk-control standard. It focuses on identifying, mitigating, and monitoring contextual risks, both physical and digital. It does not operate in isolation. Its effectiveness depends on alignment with the other Standards. For example the school physical environment should reflect commitment to the CSS through appropriate signage, where possible invarious languages; supervision should be always active and visible.
