Celebration of the Sacred Heart - Whole School Communion Service
On Thursday the 11th of June we are celebrating the 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' with a whole school communion service. This will be a staff led Liturgy of the Word with Communion.
What is the Sacred Heart of Jesus?
The 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' is a special celebration of the immense love and mercy Jesus shows us. It calls us to consider how deeply we are loved by Jesus and how we can share his love with others. The 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' has become an important feast in the Catholic Church and finds its origins in devotions and encounters of the saints with Jesus.
Why do we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus at St. Therese's.
- The Feast of the Sacred Heart (traditionally the Second Friday after Pentecost), is an important celebration in the Catholic Faith.
- St. Therese of Lisieux had a particular dedication to the 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' as shown in the morning offering she composed dedicating the day to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Our Diocese has a particular devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the patronage of our Cathedral "The Sacred Heart Cathedral."
- This celebration offers a time to focus on the love Jesus has for us and the needs of others.
- It is a time when we celebrate the work of our Catholic Church in spreading Christ love through outreach and support, particularly through the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

We extend an invitation to all our St. Therese's community to join with us for a Liturgy of the Word and Communion Service at 12:40 pm on Thursday the 11th of June at St. Therese's Church.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Thank you for your generous support of the St. Vincent de Paul society through our Pyjama Day on Monday.
The funds raise will go directly to the Kennington Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society to support families in our community.
A representative from Vinnies will address the school at the Communion Service on Thursday the 11th of June to share their appreciation and explain the work Vinnies do in our comm

Congratulations to all those who received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist last weekend. We pray for those who will celebrate the Sacraments on the Weekend of the 13th and 14th of June.
