Congratulations to all students who attended the ACC Cross Country event in Week 6. Despite some crazy weather, we managed to stay dry for most of the day and had some great team and individual efforts. It is an incredible achievement to compete at this event so well done to all the students involved in the day. Throughout the competition, we had three Top 50 finishes, from races with over 400 students. Congratulations to Elena Casas Huelin (26th), Chloe Dillon (25th) and Fieke Potter (1st). Incredibly, Fieke competed the 4km race in just 13:35!

Congratulations to Anouk on this incredibly special achievement. To receive letters, a student needs to have made the ACC All-Stars Team for four years in their time at school from Year 7-12 in either swimming, cross country or athletics. The ACC All Stars team is made up of the best result for each event from all of the ACC carnivals held for the over 90 member schools. This is an incredible achievement, with only 12 students from all of the ACC schools receiving letters for swimming this year.

Anouk was presented her letters by St George’s alumnus, champion distance walker Alexandra Griffin, and Ms Jodie Scheele representing the ACC. This year Anouk broke the U/19 Girls 50m Freestyle record, 27:34 becoming the fastest female Freestyler in ACC. She was selected in the Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay as well as the Div 1 U/19 50m Freestyler swimmer for the virtual All Star Carnival. Anouk was also the U/19 Champion Girl. She currently still holds the U/16 Girls Freestyle Record which she set in 2024. Anouk has been selected to compete in Vancouver, Canada in the Australian Junior Dolphins Swimming Team from 17-20 August 2026. We congratulate Anouk and her family and wish her the very best for her world competition. Physical Education Classes
This term, Year 7s have learned Netball, the Year 8s have battled it out in the Soccer World Cup, the Year 9s have built their tactical knowledge in Touch Rugby and the Year 10s have developed their skills in Volleyball. These have been brilliant units of work enjoyed by many, but we now transition into our Athletics program.
Whilst athletics is non-assessed, we work at building key skills that students can use to represent their house on the Interhouse Athletics Day, which is Week 2 of next term. Our Interhouse Athletics Carnival will be held at the WA Athletics Stadium on Wednesday, July 29. Students can participate in a range of jumps, running events and throws. These are the three key areas that students will develop across our PE classes for the remainder of the term. Go Dragons!
