Excitement is building for our 2026 production of Mamma Mia! as our cast and creative crew take our community promotion challenge into the wider Perth community.
Last week, our Term Two “Leads and Creative Crew Challenge” was launched, encouraging students to collect a promotional poster, display it in a local business or community space and upload a selfie with their poster to the production Teams page.

As of Tuesday in Week 6, Naz, Lawson and Tessa are leading the way with fantastic poster placements across the community, including local businesses such as Coles and other high-traffic spaces. We can’t wait to see where our students promote the show next, with the challenge running until the end of Week 8.
This initiative not only builds excitement for the production but empowers students to take ownership of promoting what promises to be a spectacular school musical event.
Book your tickets now and join us for this unforgettable production at the Regal Theatre this August!

This term’s challenge focused on students bringing in costume items well ahead of schedule to support our costume crew with organisation and preparation for production season.
Their proactive approach and commitment to supporting the wider production team has been outstanding. Thank you for demonstrating the teamwork, responsibility and enthusiasm that makes our Performing Arts community so strong.
Our highest-achieving Dance, Drama and Music students recently attended the 2026 Performing Arts Perspectives excursion at His Majesty's Theatre.
The annual showcase celebrates exemplary student performance work from across Western Australia and provides an invaluable opportunity for our students to experience outstanding practical examples of WACE performance standards.

The excursion offered rich insight into the creativity, discipline and excellence demonstrated across senior performing arts education, while inspiring our own students as they continue to refine their practical and written examination preparation.
Experiences such as this are instrumental in broadening students’ understanding of performance excellence and reinforcing the high standards they are capable of achieving in their own artistic practice.
Week 4 saw our Year 11 and 12 ATAR Dance and Drama students complete their practical examinations. For our Year 11 students, this marked their very first ATAR practical exam experience, an exciting milestone in their senior performing arts journey. For our Year 12 students, this was another important step toward their final WACE examinations, with only three practical assessments remaining.
We are incredibly proud of the focus, resilience and professionalism shown by all students throughout the examination process. Their commitment to refining their performance skills and applying feedback continues to be evident, and we now look forward to supporting them through the important reflection and feedback application process as they continue to strengthen their work.

Our school community was treated to an outstanding celebration of music at Rhythms in the City, held in the magnificent setting of Perth Town Hall. The evening showcased the incredible talent, dedication, and hard work of our student musicians across a wide range of ensembles and performance styles.
Audiences were captivated by performances from our talented soloists, energetic rock bands, and the beautiful harmonies of Voices. Instrumental ensembles also impressed throughout the evening, with Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Brasstermind, and Electrocity delivering polished and engaging performances that highlighted the depth and diversity of our music program.
The concert was also a wonderful opportunity for students to share the results of countless hours of rehearsal and preparation. Their professionalism, musicianship, and enthusiasm were evident on stage, making the event a memorable experience for performers and audience members alike.

The busy performance season continues for our music students. Voices is now preparing for the Anglican Schools Australia Conference Eucharist, which will be held on 31 July at St George's Cathedral. This special event will bring together students and staff from Anglican schools across the country in a celebration of worship and community.
Yesterday, our rock bands participated in Rock Band Day at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School. The day provided students with the opportunity to perform, collaborate, and listen to musicians from other AngliSchools, gaining valuable performance experience and inspiration from their peers.
Meanwhile, the Music Department continues to be hard at work behind the scenes. Music staff members Euan MacMillan, Ry Charleson, and Lynette Taylor are currently working closely with our production vocalists as preparations intensify for Mamma Mia! in Term 3. Students have already shown tremendous commitment and enthusiasm, and we look forward to sharing this exciting production with the wider community later in the year.
