Trial Athletics Carnival: Wednesday 10th June, 2026
School Athletics Carnival: Thursday 25th June, 2026
Diocesan Athletics Carnival: Wednesday 5th August, 2026
Trial Athletics Carnival (Year 2 - 6)
The Trial Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday, 10th June 2026. This event is for Years 2 - 6 only. The students are bussed at various times to the Athletics Centre to run the 100m and 200m events (heats). The purpose of the day is to determine who will be in the timed Championship Events on the day of the actual School Athletics Carnival (Thursday, 25th June, 2026).
Please keep an eye out on Compass in the following days/weeks to consent for both the Year 2 - 6 Trial Carnival (10th June) and the K - 6 School Athletics Carnival (25th June). This will require separate permission.
Extra information for ‘non-compulsory events’
DISCUS: Discus will be held at the Athletics Carnival at 8.00 am. Children wishing to participate in this event must know how to use a discus correctly. Participation in Little Athletics is favourable. Please email setsport@arm.catholic.edu.au if your child is participating in discus by Thursday 18th June, 2026
1500m Event: If you would like to nominate your child for the 1500m event for the Diocesan Athletics Carnival (not held at school), please email setsport@arm.catholic.edu.au with your child's time.
Time permitting, we will be holding the annual ‘Parent/Teacher 100m Dash’ towards the end of the day at the Athletics Carnival. Parents can self-nominate on the day! See you at the start line.
** Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help with timekeeping for the Trial Day. A confirmation email will be sent out next week.
Parent Helpers Needed
If you are able to assist with time keeping or the canteen, please indicate this on the Compass student permission form. All voluntary support is greatly appreciated.
