Principal Reflections

Dear Parents and Carers,
As part of our Catholic Schools Week celebrations, we took the opportunity to pause and recognise the incredible people who make St Edward’s Primary School such a special place to learn, grow and belong.
Catholic Schools Week reminds us that our school is much more than a place of education; it is a community built on faith, hope, kindness and service. Throughout the week, we have celebrated the many ways our staff live out our mission and vision each day through their care, commitment and dedication to our students and families.
Our staff continually go above and beyond in ways both seen and unseen. From encouraging students when learning feels challenging, to providing calm reassurance, guidance, and care, they help create classrooms and learning spaces where every child feels safe, known, and valued. Their teamwork, generosity, and willingness to support one another are a true reflection of the strong community spirit here at St Ed’s.
During our staff gathering on Tuesday, we also acknowledged the wonderful support of our School Performance Leader, John O’Connor. We are incredibly grateful for John’s ongoing encouragement, understanding of our school context and advocacy for our community.
We also recognised the valued support of Fr Roel Llave, whose kindness, faith, leadership and partnership with our school continue to be a blessing for our community.
A special part of the celebration involved each leadership team presenting tokens of appreciation from students to their teaching teams. It was a wonderful opportunity for staff to come together, celebrate one another and acknowledge the positive impact they have across our school community.
As Principal, I shared how fortunate I feel to work alongside such dedicated and passionate people each day. Catholic Schools Week has provided a beautiful opportunity to celebrate our people (staff, students and parents) who make St Ed's the wonderful educational environment that it is.
Winter Uniform
We wish to advise parents that the official date for changeover from summer to winter uniform is generally after the June long weekend (Tuesday 9th June). However, as the weather has turned a little cooler in the morning, we are now allowing students to wear either a full winter (INCLUDING A TIE) or a full summer uniform during this transition period. School uniform items are available for purchase from LOWES in Tamworth. Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring your child wears the correct uniform to school.
Have a wonderful week.
Keep smiling,
Alison Hatton
(Principal)
