Art with Nicole & Emily

This term the 2/3 art classes have been studying textiles. If you look closely you can see each of the beautiful sunflowers has a radial weaving centre. The class loved learning to weave and the new display looks fantastic in the multipurpose room corridor. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Bridie's Lego. Please come and admire their beautiful work on display in the Multipurpose room.
Stitching
Students have been enthusiastically continuing their sewing projects this week. Our Year 2/3 students have continued working on their hessian stitching designs.
Meanwhile, our Prep–Year 2 students have learnt about Tjanpi desert weavers and explored the wrapping technique with wool. Their gorgeous flowers are on display in the multipurpose room.
Collaborative outdoor art projects
Keep an eye out for these creatures and flowers popping up in the schoolyard sometime soon.
Thank you to all those families busily collecting and cleaning plastic bottlecaps and lids for our new school mural. The students have been doing concept designs and working on scale in art lessons. We had a play with our collection so far and found we need more brown, gold and silver lids and that different sized lids make for interesting texture and pattern. Keep collecting all colours so we can keep the progress happening and we'll be closer to brightening up our school playground.
