Work Experience

The end of term 2 is here, which for careers means Work Experience.

Our Year 10 students have enjoyed placements at local primary schools, hair and beauty salons, cafes, pizza shops, a mix of trades, early learning centres, dentists, universities, conservation societies and charities just to name a few. They are travelled far and wide including Scoresby, Surrey Hills, Moama, Inverloch and Monbulk.

Students that have remained at school have been working on their resumes, completing virtual work experiences, and helping where they can in practical classes along the way.

At the start of Term 3, Careers will be catching up with all the students as we reflect on this time and compile thank you letters to all of the wonderful employers that supported them with placement.

If you are able to offer work experience for our Year 10 students next year or structured work placement for our VCE VM students please contact Tanya at careers@scoresbysc.vic.edu.au

Finding suitable placement opportunities can be at times challenging, so any support you are able to provide to the school and the students is much appreciated.

University Open Days

University Open Days are designated days where universities open their doors to prospective students and parents. They are essential when it comes to gaining a strong insight into the institution, you’re considering studying at.

You’ll have the opportunity to speak with expert academics, teachers and current students. There will also be several tours and activities to get involved in throughout the day, where the university will showcase what they have to offer.

Studying at university is more than just attending lectures and classes. Open Day ‘s are also the best opportunity to get a feel for the campus and seeing it in ‘play’.
