JUNIOR School
Dear Parents/Carers and Students
Congratulations to our Junior School students for completing a very successful first semester and embracing so many opportunities within and beyond the classroom. Although we are approaching the holiday break, we haven’t seen too many signs of things winding down! It has been a busy period of assessment, with students revising for Common Assessment Tasks and the end-of-semester Maths exams. More broadly, Year 7 and 8 students have represented the school in interschool sport, the cast of Grease have had a full-day rehearsals ahead of the show’s premiere in just over a month, and clubs and activities remain in full swing. Our Training Band has also completed its first term of rehearsal together. Our Year 7 and 8 Year Level Captains have regularly met to lead initiatives relevant to their year levels, including a hotly-contested Dodgeball Tournament between Year 7 classes before the grand final on Monday!
This term, our Year 7 students engaged with the Cybersafety Project and the accompanying parent webinar was well-received and praised for its informative and engaging nature. Our Year 8 students worked with REACH to participate in a workshop based around Respect and also had a powerful and thought-provoking presentation from The Pat Cronin Foundation exploring the important message that violence is never OK and can have tragic and lasting consequences. REACH will return in Term 3 to work with our Year 7 students on Thursday 18 July.
Uniform Expectations
I would like to remind all students of our uniform expectations. Wearing the correct uniform not only represents our school with pride but also ensures a cohesive and respectful learning environment.
All students are expected to comply with the Schools Uniform Policy, which can be found on the school website. This includes wearing the winter school uniform as it is intended to be worn with the white shirt to be worn and collars to be visible. No pyjama pants under the skirt, no jewelry, no excessive make-up and/or accessories are to be worn to school. Students who have a legitimate reason for being out of uniform must provide a parent/carer note to explain the reason to the coordinators in the morning before classes commence to collect a Uniform Pass.
If you have any questions about the uniform policy, please speak with a member of the Junior School Coordinators.
Thank you to the Junior School Team and all teachers for their tireless efforts supporting students throughout the first two terms of 2024.
