YEAR LEVEL Captains Reports

"As Year 7 captains we have been really busy running a Dodgeball competition. This term we have run class vs class dodgeball for a prize of pizza lunch. There have been some interesting games, everyone showing sportsmanship and cheering for their class. We are so excited to see who wins.." Charlotte, Harry, Oscar and Lucy

"This semester, we have grown to learn and work together as Year Level Captains towards developing a bridge of connection between our fellow Year 8 cohort and our coordinators. We have recently been organizing a few fun events and activities to bring our Year 8 cohort together to work on our sense of connectedness. We have been focusing on student’s well-being and bullying as it is a sensitive subject as seen on the AtoS survey data. A major thing that we also wanted to work on is to make classes enjoyable and fun for the students to have something to look forward to when coming to school." Layla, Chanrica, Willow and Harlee

"For the past few weeks, we have been organising some ideas and things we could implement for the year. We went to a year level meeting where we discussed with some of the coordinators some activities we could possibly plan to do this year, including a city day, action for Bullying, No Way Week, and organising an activity for Discovery Week. We have also agreed on working towards implementing more events and activities relating to the Centenary year. These plans are still not officialised; however, we would love to bring them to life as this could help our cohort in feeling more connected to the school and their year level. As exams are coming up, we wish everyone to do their best always. Continue to contact us if you have any questions or ideas and good luck for exams!" Ruby, Archie, Diti and Charlotte

"Since the last newsletter, we have been up to some exciting things. Not only have we continued to review the AtoS survey data and identify how we can improve upon these results going into 2024 but we have also created a Microsoft form which is based around the Year 10 cohort's attitudes to school and their expectation of us as Year Level Captains for 2024. We aim to use this data to help us better understand how we can build a bond within the school and how we can introduce or expand on activities around the school that will help strengthen the connectedness throughout the cohort and further improve people's attitude towards coming to school. As Year Level Captains we are continuously trying to improve the school and strengthen our bond with the Frankston High School community." Ahmed, Sophie, Joash and Felicity
