VOCABULARY

Index - an alphabetical list of names, subjects, etc. with reference to the pages on which they are mentioned.

Glossary - a small dictionary of words usually found at the back or end of a text

Ask your child to find some structural features in an informative text and explain the purpose of it.

For example: the purpose of an index is to quickly find information in a text using key words.
