DATES FOR TERM 2

Friday 28 June - St Nicholas Athletics Carnival (Tamworth)

ST NICHOLAS ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

REMINDERS FOR TOMORROW-

  • ALL STUDENTS  are to be taken to the Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre NOT SCHOOL!
  • ALL students and helpers need to be there by 8:20am, so we can commence our Carnival by 8:45am. The Carnival will be completed early and ask all children to be collected by 2:30pm.

Looks like a good day weatherwise tomorrow but it can still get breezy and cold at the TRAC.

  • Dress warmly & Label EVERYTHING!!!
  • There will be tarpaulins in house areas although a little blanket may be appreciated by your child.
  • Kinder and Year 1 will have completed their Novelty Events by 12:00pm - if you would like to have them collected early. Infants students not collected will sit and support their colour house.They will be supervised for the remainder of the carnival.
  • We ask that parents be prompt in collecting all their children by 2:30pm and if you have a friend or relative collecting your child then please ensure that you have a permission note that is to be given to your child’s house supervising teacher.
  • All sporting houses will be set up on the edge of the track.
  • We ask that parents walk around the edge of the oval and only cross at the designated areas so as not to interfere with events. 
  • Please check the St Nicholas Sports Facebook page or check the Compass portal if there is any sign of rain on the day.​

Additional event details:

Please note students are advised to bring the following: 

  • Packed morning tea and lunch;
  • Drink bottle with water;
  • Sunscreen and hat;
  • WARM CLOTHING!!

BASKETBALL

Good luck to the St Nichs Thunder and St Nichs Devils who are playing in the Basketball grand finals tonight.

 

Next season's basketball is open on Compass.

 

TOUCH FOOTBALL

Good luck to the St Nichs Greenants who are in the Touch Football grand final on Monday.

TONI PALMER MEMORIAL SHIELD

Next Thursday 4 July we have some Year 3-6 children travelling to Inverell to compete at the Toni Palmer Memorial Shield. Toni was a teacher at Holy Trinity in Inverell who was heavily involved in Diocesan sport and who had a passion for rugby league. She sadly lost a battle with cancer in 2021.

COMPASS

Just a reminder that the majority of sporting opportunities are only on Compass and it needs to be checked on a regular basis.

Tamworth School Holiday Gala Day

 

Netball NSW in conjunction with Tamworth Netball Association are holding a School Holiday Gala Day these school holidays! To register follow the link; https://www.playhq.com/netball-australia/register/087152

 

Participants will be put through a variety a games and drills, followed by round robin matches to put their new skills into practise. This is a great opportunity to come and try netball for a day – we encourage both boys and girls of all netball abilities to join us.

 

When and Where

Tuesday 16th July at Tamworth Sports Dome. Participants can arrive from 8:30am ready for a 9am start (please do not arrive any earlier). The program will finish at 1pm sharp.  

 

Cost

The cost of this event is $15 per participant.
