National Tree Day

National Tree Day is on Sunday July 18th and we have been dedicating the first 2 weeks of Term 3 to appreciating trees and all they provide. Grade 1 & 2 students enjoyed the book Be Thankful for Trees by Harriet Ziefert, and made posters to represent how trees make them feel.

If you would like to be involved in National Tree Day, there are events happening all over Melbourne and to find a planting site visit this website:

Mindfulness in the garden

In the last week of Term 2 the grade 3/4‘s created beautiful mandalas out of natural materials found in the garden. The word mandala means “circle” and represents peace and symmetry. This is a creative and relaxing activity you can do almost anywhere.
