HPA 2024 Around the World

Bon Voyage, HPA!

Bags were packed, tickets were purchased, itineraries were confirmed, and the final Shelford HPA took flight! What a joy it was to have our Hall filled with enthusiastic passengers last Friday evening, ready to embark on a journey AROUND THE WORLD. This year’s theme invited us on a globetrotting journey that brought to life the unique rhythms and colours of many different countries through drama, dance, set and prop design and construction, music, and multimedia.

House Performing Arts faced a few unprecedented challenges this year, with the need to elect new captains, smaller student numbers, and a slightly shorter time frame… but our Shelford girls proved that they truly had the travel bug and were off to a flying start from day one. Led by our courageousHPA Captains, each House created, scripted, cast, choreographed, rehearsed, and refined their performances, showcasing the incredible talents and creativity of our students (and staff!) The commitment of our HPA Captains was truly breathtaking and took us to heights we really could not have anticipated this year. And whilst the dress rehearsal experienced some unexpected turbulence, the evening performances were perfectly smooth sailing with all declaring it a superb trip around the world.

Congratulations to Langley for winning HPA this year, and to all of the other Houses who put on a spectacular show. The memories we made on this trip around the world will be treasured for many years to come!
