Wow! Has the term already finished? It may have been a long one, but time has really flown by. We've had our share of coughs, colds, and other ailments, but overall it has been another awesome term of learning in Grade 3/4. Here are some highlights:
The Garden Program continues to be a weekly highlight for the Grade 3/4s. We have cooked some excellent food and gained a great deal from the wisdom of our knowledgeable leaders. A big thank you to our regular volunteers: Deidre, Margaret, Leigh, Robin, and Hugh, who have supported us in maintaining and looking after our garden each week. Also, thank you to our army of mums, dads and grandparents who volunteer to support the Garden Program, it really couldn't run with out you.
This term, the students have written a series of poems and published a narrative. It was fantastic to showcase our work during Open Classroom Day on Wednesday afternoon. Many of the poems had a connection with the novel Blueback, written by Tim Winton. The novel was part of a major study in the grade 3/4s and students delved deeply into it's characters, settings and themes.
Mrs. Merrett is leaving us for most of Term 3 as she and her family travel through the centre of Australia. We hope Mrs. Merrett and her family have a great time and we look forward to hearing her stories and seeing her photos when she returns. Mrs. Chapman will be filling in for Mrs. Merrett while she is away.
On behalf of the Grade 3/4 team, we hope everyone has a great holiday. Hopefully, you get to go somewhere sunny! Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you in Term 3.we look forward to seeing you in Term 3.
