JUNIOR School Update

Dear Parents/Carers and Students

Welcome to Term 3. A Busy and Exciting Term Ahead!

We’d like to extend a warm welcome back to all Junior School families as we begin Term 3. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break.

All the best to the following Year 7 and 8 students who will be participating in our school production Chicago next week. Well done on stepping up to take advantage of a great opportunity to learn and connect with others through your involvement in a highlight of the school calendar each year. We can’t wait to see the show!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be celebrating learning through a range of activitiesJunior School students will participate in the Australian Maths Competition (AMC) on Thursday 7 August, giving students a chance to showcase their skills and challenge themselves, and Year 7 students will participate in the World of Maths incursions on Tuesday 12 August and Wednesday 13 August. We also look forward to welcoming author Jack Heath to present to our Junior School students on Monday 18 August, before our Year 8 students participate in the History incursion on Thursday 21 August to enrich their learning about the Medieval world. One of the key milestones this term is the submission of Year 9 elective preferences. This is an exciting time for Year 8 students as they begin to explore their interests and consider their pathways into Middle School.

While Term 3 may be shorter in length, it will be packed with important opportunities for our students. One of the key milestones this term is the submission of Year 9 elective preferences. This is an exciting time for students as they begin to explore their interests and consider their pathways into Middle School.

Beyond the classroom, there will be a wide range of activities and events available to engage and extend our students. As always, our focus remains on supporting and challenging every student to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

We’re pleased to welcome back Mr Joel McMahon from family leave. Mr McMahon has returned to his role as Head of Year 8 and is looking forward to reconnecting with students and families as we dive into what promises to be another productive and positive term.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working in partnership with our families so far this year and we’re committed to continuing to build those strong connections throughout the term. If you have any questions or would like support, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Year 8 team.

Here is to a great Term 3!

Mr John Simon, Campus Principal, Year 7

Mr Cam Heyes, Campus Principal, Year 8
