All Year 12 students and their parents were emailed last week regarding the adjusted Year 12 Term 3 exam block schedule along with the following information:
Normal exam block expectations apply for Friday 8 August. During the Exam Block, all normal school rules apply, and extra expectations are put in place to ensure the safety and the efficient and effective running of assessment tasks. Expectations during the exam block are as follows:

Please note that students behind in Certificate and Diploma courses will remain at school on Friday.
If a student misses an exam, a medical certificate clearly stating the medical reason for the student’s absence as well as the exact dates of the absence will need to be forwarded to the Curriculum team, along with a completed Request for Reasonable Adjustment form, via email curriculum@marash.qld.edu.au.
Student specific due dates for Term 3 assessment items can now be viewed in the Parent Orbit App. Your son is encouraged to look at their subjects and transfer all assessment due dates to his College Diary.
This week all students in Years 9-12 continue to sit down in Pastoral Group and discuss their goals for Semester 2, 2025.
It is a great opportunity for you to ask your son about his goals and to also reflect on his learning across Semester 1.
Boys in years 7 to 9 have also started working through effective goal setting through the ASH program.
Communication was emailed to all parents last week regarding the upcoming online Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews on Monday 18 August 2025. The booking system opened at 7:00pm on Friday 1 August and will close at 7:00pm on Monday 11 August. As mentioned in the email, if you book an online Parent/Teacher/Student interview this term, you will not be permitted to book face-to-face interviews with the same teachers next term (Tuesday 7 October).
Year 11 – Music Extension and English/Literature Extension
Any Year 11 student who may be interested in undertaking an Extension subject in either Music or English/Literature in Term 4 (Unit 3 & 4) must contact the Academic Care Team to arrange an interview.
Registering for my QCE - Competition
The myQCE competition opens closes on Friday 19 September 2025. It offers Years 10–12 students a chance to win one of three prizes: a MacBook Air, an iPad Air with Magic Keyboard, or a pair of AirPods Max headphones. To enter the competition students must:

Marist Subject support tutoring is off and running.
Tutoring is offered by Old Boys and takes place in the from 07:30am to 08:30am and also 3:30pm to 4:30pm Tuesday to Thursday each week.
Please find here a list of Old Boys who are available to tutor your son outside of school hours. This list can also be located on the parent portal or via this link. Please note it is the parent’s responsibility to organise and liaise tutoring times with the Old Boys.
Year 12 Night Study Session will commence again this week - Wednesday night between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. As usual, students will need to sign in and out. They can arrive and leave at any time between 5:00pm – 8:00pm; but they are not able to keep coming and leaving during the night.
We’re excited to share that Griffith’s popular Academic Bootcamps are back for the September holidays!
These four-day courses help Year 12 students boost their final exam results with support from experienced teachers currently delivering these subjects in schools.
Students will:
Available in-person or online. Subjects include General Maths, Maths Methods, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Psychology.
Students can attend up to two bootcamps across consecutive weeks.
