What a big fortnight at TPS!
Mr Hogan
It has been nice to have some lovely weather over the past week. Hopefully the worst of the cold is behind us as we move towards Spring. The nice weather has resulted in lots of activity outside, with our students playing beautifully together.
Next week is Science Week. We have lots of fun things happening throughout the week, all with a science theme attached to it.
Our Grade 3/4 students are visiting Tongala Nutrition to see how science is at play in their new factory.
Our Grade 5/6 students are heading to Kyabram P-12 College to use their science labs and take part in a range of different Science experiments.

On Tuesday, we have a special performance, called The Super Science Circus Show. It will be lots of fun, and no doubt will be an excellent performance.
Throughout the week our classes are focussing on a different aspect of Science, and participating in fun, educational experiences.
Following on from Science Week, we will be celebrating Book Week. Our annual Book Parade will be held on Monday morning, and we invite families to come along and join in the fun.

We also have Linda from the Tongala Library coming to do some activities with all students throughout the week.
Friday, August 22nd is a Pupil Free Day. On this day, staff will be focussing on both student and teacher wellbeing strategies, which will be highly valuable learning.
In Term 3 we are running our whole school story writing competition again. Last year, this was an amazing success and the work that was produced, and the books published were of an incredibly high standard.
We will be announcing our winners of this competition at the end of the term.
All schools are tightening up their Child Safe requirements to ensure a safe community for all. Working With Children's Checks are a must for anyone who is undertaking a role in our school. All visitors, even if attending assembly or special days, must sign in and out of the office, as we need to have a record of who is on site at all times.
You will now see large signs around the school to remind us of this.

The school has developed a number of Child Safe policies, which are on our Website under the Child Safe tab. Please feel free to look through these and provide any feedback to Melissa or myself in regard to these.
Our bi-annual school fete will be happening on Friday, November7th.
The Fete committee have got the wheels moving for the Fete but we still need helpers. If anyone would like to be involved, please speak to Cherish Todd or Karen in the office.
Our School Fete is our major fundraiser for the year, so any help to make this a fantastic evening will be greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend everyone!
