Literacy and Numeracy

Maths Curriculum 2.0
As we move into Semester Two, our teachers will continue teaching, assessing, and reporting on the Victorian Curriculum Mathematics 2.0, which was introduced earlier this year. This updated curriculum helps students build stronger foundational skills and confidence in numeracy.
As you are aware, in Semester One, student reports reflected the new curriculum by reporting to a single mathematics achievement standard, rather than separating learning into individual strands. This change aligns with the structure of Mathematics 2.0 and allows a more holistic view of each student’s learning across all areas of mathematics.
Our commitment to best-practice teaching continues with the implementation of daily reviews in mathematics lessons. These short, targeted reviews help students revisit and consolidate key concepts, improving long-term understanding and retention.
We’re excited about the positive impact these changes are having in classrooms, and we thank families for their ongoing support as we continue to embed this updated curriculum into everyday teaching and learning.
