Year 7 Pastoral Care

We are well into Term 3, and our Year 7 students have truly hit the ground running. It's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and commitment both inside and outside the classroom.

Founders Day Success

  • Chelsea Guillermo
  • Chrisanne Marisol

It is fantastic to see a large number of Year 7 students immersing themselves in a wide range of extracurricular activities across the school. We are proud of their dedication and encourage them to continue pursuing their passions. Congratulations to the following students for their notable achievements:

Winter Uniform Reminders

A huge thank you to the Year 7 cohort for adhering to the college uniform expectations so well this year. It's been great to see! As we are now in Term 3, please be reminded that the full winter uniform is required. Also, a quick reminder that blazers need to be worn to and from school, and all undergarments should not be visible.

Year 9 Pastoral Care

What a fantastic end to Semester One for our Year 9 students! I want to extend a huge congratulations to all the girls for their efforts throughout the semester. This reflected a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication, and they should all be incredibly proud of their achievements. I trust they earned their break and have returned to school ready for a profitable semester ahead.

It was also wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation from Year 9 in our recent Founders Day celebrations. The girls demonstrated great school spirit, and it was a memorable day for our entire community. Congratulations to Adriana Galea and Leora Fensom who performed in Brigidine’s Got Talent and have set themselves up for a career in the spotlight.

Year 9 have recently completed their Semester Two goal setting activities in Pastoral Care. I encourage all parents and guardians to take some time to sit down with their daughters to discuss these goals and help support them in achieving them over the coming months. Their goals were designed with feedback from their reports so hopefully we shall see some growth over the next semester.

Finally, just a reminder, as this will be my last newsletter article, that I have resigned from my role as Year 9 Coordinator; with my last day being Friday, 22 August 2025. It has been a privilege to work with your daughters, and I am so grateful for the support you have all shown me during my time here. I wish you all the very best for the future. As I have previously informed you, I will be staying here at Brigidine as a teacher and I look forward to continuing to teach your daughters over the coming years.

Take care and thank you again for your support of the College.

Year 10 Pastoral Care

Welcome back to a busy and exciting Term 3! It's been a fantastic start. We've seen a real shift in focus as students begin to knuckle down and consider their future goals. It's a significant time, and we're incredibly proud of the maturity and dedication they've shown.

This term kicked off with a major milestone for our students as they submitted their senior studies preferences. We know this can be a daunting process, but it's wonderful to see them taking the next step in shaping their academic journey. We're here to support them as they navigate this transition and we're confident they will excel in their chosen paths.

Talent Show Congratulations

A huge congratulations to all of the Year 10 students who participated in the Talent Show last term. Your efforts and talents were truly impressive! A special shout out to our 1st Place winner, Klara James! Well done, Klara!

Netball Sydney Championships

A massive congratulations to our Year 10 students Tess Doyle, Sophie Williams, Zara Dilger, Aoife Connolly, Piper Savins, Jazmine Ballard, and Caitlyn Burke; along with Year 9 students Kasey Russell and Addison Hughes. This incredible team took home second place in the Sydney Championships! While they didn't win their final match against Aquinas Catholic College Menai, coming in second is an amazing feat and a testament to their hard work and dedication. They are all winners in our eyes!

Insights on Safe Partying

In Week 2, our Year 10 students had the valuable opportunity to attend a talk on alcohol, drugs, and risk taking presented by Paul Dillon at Marcellin College. Paul's presentation was incredibly engaging and provided students with practical tips and strategies for staying safe in social situations. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we believe the insights gained will empower our students to make informed and responsible decisions.

This event also provided a great chance for our students to connect with their peers from Marcellin. We are always looking for opportunities to foster these connections, and it was great to see the groups socialising and building rapport.

Brigidine College & Marcellin Dance

Our recent Year 10 Dance with Marcellin College was a great evening filled with music, laughter, and fun. Both Brigidine and Marcellin students behaved impeccably and retold stories of their evening when they returned to school. A good night was had by all.

Wishing you all a great Term 3!

Year 11 Pastoral Care

We've had a busy and enriching time recently with a number of significant events for our Year 11 students. Here's a brief recap of what they've been up to.

Year 11 Retreat

In Week 9 of Term 2, our Year 11 students attended their retreat at the Benedict XVI Retreat Centre. This was a valuable opportunity for the girls to reflect on their transition into Stage 6. They considered what kind of people they want to be, set personal goals, and thought about how they can achieve their full potential. The retreat was a great success, bringing the year group closer together and strengthening the bonds within their pastoral care groups.

BStreetSmart

On Wednesday, August 6th, Year 11 attended the BStreetSmart event at Qudos Bank Arena. This powerful and eye-opening experience, an initiative of Westmead Hospital’s Trauma Department, is designed to reduce the number of crashes among young drivers. With road accidents being a leading cause of death for young people, the event uses real-life survivor stories, interactive experiences, and engaging content to empower students to make safer choices on the road.

The HopeFull Institute with Glen Gerreyn

On Thursday, August 7th, Year 11 students participated in “The Leadership Effect”, a presentation by Glen Gerreyn, Director and Co-Founder of The HopeFull Institute. For over two decades, Glen has shared his message of hope with millions of people worldwide. This inspiring session was designed to reinforce both the natural and learned leadership skills of our students, motivating them to take action and drive positive change.

Student Leadership for 2026

Our Year 11 students have also been actively engaged in the process of applying for College Leadership positions. The process kicked off with leadership seminars on Friday, August 1st. We were thrilled to receive a substantial number of applications.

We're now in the second stage of the selection process, where successful applicants are preparing speeches for their peers and creating videos for staff and Year 10 students. Following these presentations, a vote will take place to determine which students will progress to the interview stage. We wish all applicants the very best of luck.

Key Dates for Year 11

  • Friday, August 22nd: Elevate (P1) - "Ace Your Exams"
  • Tuesday, September 2nd: Health and Movement Science Excursion
  • Friday, September 5th: Leadership Positions Announced & Father's Day Mass & Breakfast
  • Friday, September 12th - Monday, September 22nd: Preliminary Examinations
  • Friday, September 26th: Pupil Free Day

These meaningful and enriching experiences are vital for our students’ growth, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have.
