Calling All Curious Coders and Creative Problem-Solvers! The Victorian Coding Challenge (VCC) is HERE!

 

Are you passionate about coding — or maybe just curious to give it a try?

Do you enjoy solving real-world problems, thinking logically, and being creative?

If you answered YES to any of these, this challenge is for YOU!

 

Whether you're a coding pro or a total beginner, the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) invites students from Years 5 to 10 to take part in this exciting, two-stage challenge designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and refine coding skills — all while having fun!

No coding background? No problem.

 

Stage 1 – Online Coding Challenge

Open to all students in Years 5–10

Self-paced, online and completely FREE

Solve engaging, real-world coding puzzles

Build your computational and algorithmic thinking

No prior coding experience needed – support and resources are provided

Complete at school or at home — your pace, your place

(Registration is essential to participate in Stage 2)

 

Stage 2 – Face-to-Face Coding Competition

Compete in teams of 2–4 against other students from across the state

Face fun challenges, collaborative games, and a chance to WIN prizes!

A high-energy, interactive day of creativity, strategy, and excitement

Dates & Venue:

 - Years 7–8: 16 October 2025, Community Hub at the Dock, Docklands

 - Years 9–10: 23 October 2025, Community Hub at the Dock, Docklands

(Stage 1 participation is not required to compete in Stage 2, but you must be registered beforehand.)
