Student Learning

When the rain starts to fall, F10 turns into a cosy hub of creativity and learning. One of our favourite indoor activities during wet playtimes has been finger knitting and traditional knitting. These calming, hands-on crafts offer more than just fun—they help students build a wide range of valuable skills. Last week, with the wet and windy weather, we were also able to start our Crazy Camel artwork for this term’s fundraiser.

Through knitting, students strengthen their fine motor coordination, practice patience and persistence, and develop hand-eye coordination. Following patterns and counting stitches also supports their mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities. There's even a touch of creative design involved as students choose colours, plan projects, and see their ideas come to life stitch by stitch.

Whether they’re beginners or little knitting pros, the students in F10 are learning from one another, sharing tips, and enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something with their own two hands.

So, while the weather outside may be gloomy, inside F10 it’s warm, busy, and brimming with new skills and shared experiences!
