Boarding

As we begin the 2026 school year, it has been a joy to welcome our Boarding community back to Kambala. We started the year with our annual Welcome Back BBQ, held in the Boarding House common room, where girls and their families came together to share dinner, reconnect, and reflect on their summer holidays. It was a wonderful opportunity to re-establish friendships and set a positive tone for the year ahead.
This year, we are delighted to welcome 16 new Boarders and their families into our community. The BBQ provided a relaxed and welcoming environment for new families to make connections and begin building relationships within the Boarding community, supported by our returning families and staff.
The first full week back was a busy and exciting one, with the girls launching straight into a wide range of sporting and co-curricular activities, from touch rugby training to production rehearsals. It has been wonderful to see the energy, enthusiasm and commitment the girls have shown as they balance their academic and co-curricular pursuits.
Our 'In Weekend' was a fantastic opportunity for girls across all year groups to strengthen connections and form new friendships. We concluded the weekend with our Boarders Chapel Service at St Michael’s, continuing the tradition of Kambala boarders walking up Bayview Hill Road on a Sunday afternoon to attend church together. It was a meaningful way to reflect, reconnect and reaffirm the strong sense of community that defines life in the Kambala Boarding House.
We look forward to another year of growth, connection and shared experiences in 2026.

Kambala Boarders In Weekend - Saturday Games, Burgers, Beach, Ice Creams and Movie Night
On the weekend the Kambala Boarders all enjoyed an ‘In Weekend’ of fun activities designed to offer an opportunity for connection, laughter, and shared experiences as boarding Sisters.
Saturday afternoon kicked off with an energetic and highly competitive game of dodgeball in the gym. Spirits were high as teams formed quickly, strategies emerged, and plenty of friendly rivalry filled the space. There was no shortage of enthusiasm, teamwork, and laughter, making it the perfect way to burn off energy and set the tone for the weekend.
After working up an appetite, the boarders enjoyed a delicious dinner of burgers and wedges, which was very well received and provided a great chance to relax and chat together.
Enjoying most of the daylight, the girls and staff took a walk down to Queens Beach after dinner, where they enjoyed games and were treated to ice creams, whilst taking in the stunning views across Sydney Harbour. It was a memorable moment, with beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere adding to the experience.
The evening concluded with a movie night, complete with popcorn and treats. The film ‘Home’ was a heartwarming story about a lovable misfit alien who befriends an adventurous young girl on a quest to find her mother. It was the perfect choice, offering humour, warmth, and a strong message about friendship and belonging.
As the girls went to bed Saturday night, they all were eager for the Sunday activities ahead including a thrilling visit to Cables Aqua Park.
Kambala Boarders Outing: A Day at Cables Aqua Park
On Sunday the Kambala Boarders enjoyed an action-packed outing to Cables Aqua Park in Penrith.
The day began with a delicious Sunday brunch, giving everyone the perfect start before a big day of activity. The spread included bacon and eggs, sausages, hash browns, tomato, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, smoothies, and a popular favourite, fresh avocado toast. With full stomachs and high spirits, the girls were ready to take on the day ahead.
Following brunch, the boarders boarded the buses and made their way to the aqua park, where excitement quickly took over. The giant inflatable obstacle course proved to be a highlight, with plenty of laughs, splashes, and challenges as the girls raced, climbed, slipped, and cheered each other on throughout the sessions.
After a busy morning on the water, the group refuelled with Subway for lunch, just what was needed to recharge before heading back for another round on the aqua park.
The afternoon session provided the perfect finale, with the girls making the most of every moment on the inflatables. By the end of the day, everyone returned tired and full of joy, carrying home great memories of a day well spent together.
It was a fantastic outing that combined fun, friendship, and adventure - one that will be remembered fondly by all who attended.
Prep
Prep has now commenced for the term, and we are pleased to confirm that once again we have contracted A Team Tutors to support the girls on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
In addition, our highly capable boarding staff are available each night to assist students with their study, organisation, and time management. This combination of external tutoring and staff support ensures the girls are well supported in developing strong study habits and achieving their academic goals.
