Junior School

Welcome 2026
The joy of working in a girls’ school is witnessing our students’ natural enthusiasm for school, striving for their personal best, and their love of learning. It was wonderful to see their excitement so evident as they returned to the “fair hill of flowers.”
The first day of school was marked with a K–12 Assembly on Tivoli Lawn. Seeing a sea of close to 1000 yellow ribbons gathered together was a powerful reminder of our Kambala sisterhood. We welcomed approximately 85 new students, primarily in our intake years of Prep, Year 3, and Year 5 and Year 7. Our Junior School Captain, Imogen Wheeler, and Head Prefect, Scarlett Levy, warmly welcomed new students and staff, who were each presented with a flower to commemorate this special occasion.
It was also a joy for our teachers and staff to connect with both existing and new Kambala parents at the KPA Parent Cocktail Party on Friday 30 January 2026 - a warm and welcoming way to commence our school year.
We are delighted to welcome new team members to Kambala as well! Miss Alexandra Egan to teach Year 2 and Miss Rosie Mitchell to teach Year 6.
Miss Alexandra Egan comes to us with experience teaching at Redlands (Cremorne) and holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary and Mathematics major) and Graduate Certificate in Wellbeing from the University of Notre Dame.
Miss Rosie Mitchell holds a Master of Teaching qualification from the University of Sydney and has previous teaching experience teaching Year 6 and Wenona (North Sydney).
Of course, our Kambala students capture the spirit of a new school year better than I ever could, so I turn to the words of our Junior School Captain, Imogen Wheeler, in her welcoming address:
“I came to Kambala in Year 3 after moving from the other side of the world, and I remember how overwhelming it all felt at first. The new classes, new teachers, and a whole new country! But what helped me were the friendly smiles, people showing me around, and inviting me to join in. These small acts of kindness made me feel part of the Kambala community. I hope this welcome will be one that all the new girls this year will experience. As we begin 2026, let's remember that even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone feel welcome, and in no time, Kambala will feel like their home.”

We cannot receive late to school or absent from school phone calls
A digital record must be created.
Once at school late arrival Prep - Year 6 students must sign in at Reception with Mrs Ellie Styles.
