WELCOME 2026

The College Resource Library would like to welcome back staff, students and the school community for another great year! We all hope you had an enjoyable break and a happy start to the new school year. The Library Team has been hard at work over the holidays, planning and preparing an exciting term of displays, events, activities, clubs, and so much more.

Our library is here to support the academic and creative development of every individual, whether you're a student, parent, or staff member. With a continually growing selection of books, research resources, online databases, eBooks, and modern collaborative spaces, the library serves as a hub for learning and exploration within our school community.

The college library team is always here to assist you, whether you have a question, need help finding resources, or just want to explore new ideas. We’re committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone.

This year, we’re buzzing with exciting new programs, library features, and activities for the term ahead, so be sure to check out our media and newsletters to stay up to date. We are also excited to welcome new and returning families at the 2026 Hello Morning on Wednesday 18 February, please come along and visit the library.

LIBRARY BORROWING

Library bags

A friendly reminder to all parents, caregivers, and students. Please organise a library bag for your child. This is encouraged for all Primary students to ensure all library books are safe when they go home.If you need assistance with this, the college library is here to help. Library staff can provide your child with their own library bag. Please contact the college office or call in and talk to our librarians.

Prep Library Orientation

Over the last week, the college library has welcomed some of our young readers to borrowing. During this time, students had a whole session of library orientation to learn about the library space and get to know our librarians. All Prep students were given a ‘trial’ library book to take home and return for next week (on library day). This book acts as their first book of the year, while it also acts as a welcome booklet for families. Library staff hope this provides parents/carers with simple information about using our library.

LIBRARY LOVERS’ DAY

This February 14th, our college library celebrated Library Lovers’ Day! Promoted by The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), the day is an opportunity to celebrate the importance of libraries and the love of reading during the month of February. Students enjoyed writing a love letter to our library, engaging in some fun displays, and reading many of their favourite books.

It's the perfect opportunity to show some love for the space where imagination, learning, and adventure come alive. Whether you’re an avid reader or just starting your library journey, there is always something for everyone!

Resource Library Monitors

The Library Monitors program is also back for 2026! This program is facilitated by library staff and gives students from Grade 3 to Year 12 an opportunity at an extracurricular leadership role within the college. Library Monitors are responsible for a range of roles within the library space, including shelving books, keeping the space tidy, assisting with displays, brainstorming new programs with staff, and so much more. We will be announcing our Term 1 Library Monitors very soon.

Many thanks,
