What's Happening In Secondary

What a strong start to 2026!

Our first week kicked off with new students, new subjects, and new staff, and there has been a real sense of excitement and momentum across Secondary.

Year 10 Pathways Launch

Our Year 10 students have officially begun their VET courses, which is a significant step in expanding opportunities for our senior students. This year we are offering:

• Certificate II in Sport Coaching
• Certificate II in Workplace Skills
• Selected modules from Certificate II in Hospitality
• Trades Taster Program through TasBGAS

It has been fantastic to see students stepping into practical, future-focused learning pathways so early in the year.

In addition, we have seven Year 10 students commencing Mathematics Methods through the Virtual Learning Team in Hobart. These students will complete Foundations Mathematics Methods 3, including formal examinations. This is a significant academic stretch, and we are proud of their willingness to challenge themselves.

Year 7 Settling In

Our Year 7 students have settled beautifully into Secondary life. They are quickly learning how to navigate:

• Lockers
• Room changes
• Option subjects
• New routines and expectations

It is wonderful to see their growing confidence each day.

Looking Ahead – Week 3

We are hoping for some lovely weather next week as:

• Year 7 & 8 participate in their swimming afternoon and assessment
• Our Secondary Swimming Carnival takes place

These events are always highlights of Term 1 — full of participation, encouragement, and house spirit.
