We are pleased to introduce two new leadership roles that will further strengthen care, clarity and consistency across our Primary School: Deputy Head of Primary (K–2) and Deputy Head of Primary (Years 3–6).
We warmly welcome Mrs Prue McCulloch, Deputy Head of Primary (Kinder–Year 2), and Mr Travis Cruse, Deputy Head of Primary (Years 3–6). Working closely with classroom teachers, Student Wellbeing, Team Leaders, the Head of Primary and the Principal, Prue and Travis will provide pastoral leadership, guidance and coordination to support student learning, wellbeing and behaviour.
These roles form part of a clarified Primary support pathway designed to ensure concerns are addressed at the closest and most appropriate level. Classroom teachers remain the first point of contact for students and families, with Deputy Heads providing additional support when concerns become more complex or require coordination.
This structure promotes strong relationships, restorative practice and shared responsibility, in order to include the correct supports. Grounded in our Christian values, it reflects a relational, compassionate approach to leadership—ensuring students are known and supported, and staff are encouraged and equipped to serve well.

Our Primary Athletics Carnival is being held on Wednesday 25th February at the Don Oval. The Don Oval (which is directly beside our school STEM Centre and Secondary basketball court) will be transformed into a vibrant arena where budding athletes showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The Primary Athletics Carnival is not just about winning ribbons; it is a celebration of every child's effort, dedication, passion for sports and team spirit.
From sprinting to distance, shot-put to turbo javelin, our carnival offers a diverse range of events tailored to accommodate various interests and abilities. Whether your child is a seasoned sprinter or a newcomer eager to explore new avenues, there's something for everyone to participate in and enjoy.
As parents, your support plays a crucial role in making the Athletics Carnival a memorable experience for your child. Whether it is cheering from the sidelines, volunteering as a helper or simply offering words of encouragement, your involvement goes a long way in nurturing their confidence and enthusiasm for sports.
Get ready to cheer! Bring along a camp chair and your travel mug for a delicious hot drink and let's make the Primary Athletics Carnival a day to remember—one filled with laughter, cheers and unforgettable moments that showcases the heart of DCS!

We look forward to seeing you on the day!
A great aspect of community at DCS centres around students and parents coming together. One avenue of this is through sporting teams. Each year we have many students and parents involved in the sporting teams at DCS. We field teams in the following sports; Soccer, Netball, Basketball and Touch Football (during Term 4). Parents please be aware that some sports do have a minimum age requirement, as listed below.
Sign up now using the form below to be included in the DCS teams (please note, your official sign up and registration for the sport is usually done through each sporting organisation, this is so we can form our teams and you do not miss out on playing with DCS).
Please note that this is an expression of interest only and teams will be created as forms are returned. It is recommended that forms are completed early to ensure a place in your child’s preferred sporting team. Any student with unpaid registration at the beginning of the season will forfeit their place as team members must be registered before play commences.
The fun of the sporting community is being involved. As a parent, if you are interested in helping with coaching, or the sports committee assisting in putting teams together with administration, please also complete your details above.
Please remember that Devonport Christian School is a child safe organisation. All volunteers and parent helpers are required to comply with the DCS Child Protection Policy, hold a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People card and have completed our Working with our Students, Volunteer and Parent Helpers Course for 2026.
We look forward to seeing you and your children feel connected in our sporting teams at DCS this year!
