Visual Arts (Mrs Bleicher)

Welcome to Visual Arts for 2026!
It has been wonderful to see students settling into the art room and engaging so positively with our learning spaces.
In Visual Arts, students can expect to explore a range of materials and techniques, develop their creativity, and build confidence as artists in a supportive and inclusive environment.
A reminder for families to send a smock to school for Visual Arts lessons. Students in Years 3–6 may choose to bring an apron if they prefer. Having a smock or apron helps to protect their clothing during creative activities.
Over the first few weeks, students are learning and revising art room expectations and routines, with a strong focus on working safely, using materials responsibly, and showing respect and cooperation when working with others. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in collaborative art-making experiences, creating shared artworks to be proudly displayed around our school.
The art room is always grateful for donations of clean, reusable materials. We are currently looking to build our supply of buttons, stickers, ribbons and trims, and clean paper shopping bags.
We also welcome donations of clean cardboard packaging, particularly pieces that are unusual or interesting, such as packaging with flaps, folds, textures or cut-out sections.
We’re looking forward to a great year in the art room!
